Topics: Juried Art, Art Exhibitions, Art Gallery

The Director for the Gmeiner Arts and Cultural Center, Anna Wales has said that the June Juried Art Show is something that she looks forward to the June Juried Judged show every year. Professional and amateur artists living within 150 miles of Wellsboro PA contribute work for this event. She likes to see who comes out of the woodwork every year. She gets to see the new ways in which artists are growing in skill, new artists she has never met before, and she gets to hang a unique show every year.
Of course, the juried show is not all about her. Artists are challenged to present their best work to their peers. How has your work improved over the last year?
Director Wales chose the title “Compositions” for this year’s juried show. She wants the judges to have a category to judge that is based solely on composition. What types of compositions have you played with this year? We want to see!
The judges of this particular exhibit will create other categories based on what is submitted. For instance, if we receive a large quantity of oil paintings, then the judges will choose first, second, and third prizes from oil paintings. Then a third category based on other submitted mediums will be created. We like to choose the judging categories based on what is here on the day of judging rather than having a set group of categories. So, submit your very best work and all the art on exhibit for the Art Show is for sale, so come in, sign up, and enjoy the show.
